Today marks the exciting launch of Engineers Make it so

Today’s launch marks a significant milestone in the Make it so campaign, which began in 2009.

The new Engineers Make it so site showcases the diversity of engineering like never before. It will help to carry the Make it so message – which is all about raising public awareness of engineering – far into the future. Watch this video to see what its all about.

This new site is designed to showcase our profession and promote a wide range of engineering initiatives. It is a place where engineers can connect with – and inspire – people from within our communities, especially young people who are considering engineering as a career.

Right now, you can read the profiles of inspiring individuals, check out significant engineering projects, and read about different areas of engineering and organisations.

The best place to start is by browsing our collections, which make it easier for you to navigate the rich engineering content we're collecting. Currently available:

Does any of this information end up being released to the various media outlets by way of formal media/press releases? If not, then we are relying on people "happening" upon it or we are just preaching to the converted.

Given the natural disasters over the Christmas/New Year period, I never heard any of the mainstream media mentioning anything about RedR. I mean we will hear of MSF (Doctors without Borders), but RedR barely gets a mention in the mainstream media.

I commend you all - the public indeedhas no idea what an engineer does, least of all a mechanical engineer.
I look forward to contributing to this website - this has been one of my many hobby horses.
