About Department of Transport (VIC)

The Department of Transport along with VicRoads and other transport agencies, is responsible for public transport, roads and ports across Victoria.

Our mission is building a safer, fairer and greener transport system for all Victorians to create a more prosperous and connected community.

We deliver a range of projects and programs. Some of them are large and complex infrastructure projects which will benefit all Victorians.
We also develop integrated strategies, plans and policies for infrastructure and transport services that will deliver the Victorian Government's infrastructure objectives and targets.
