About TransGrid

TransGrid owns and operates the high voltage electricity transmission network throughout New South Wales.

Electricity is generated at power stations operated by Macquarie Generation Delta Electricity Eraring Energy and Snowy Hydro. It is then transmitted by TransGrid through a 12000km network of high voltage (up to 500kV) transmission lines and 82 substations or switching stations. The electricity is finally delivered to homes factories and businesses by retail distributors such as Integral Energy EnergyAustralia Country Energy and ActewAGL.

TransGrid operates the overall network using state of the art control and monitoring equipment to ensure the highest level of availability and reliability of high voltage electricity for our customers.
