Project Manager, highway design projects. Also a team leader within the Civil Section, with management responsibilities.
The opportunity to influence the use of natural resources and improve livelihoods for those with less choices.
Secured a graduate engineering position with RTA straight from uni. Took the opportunity to travel and live in different areas of NSW. After 3 years I knew I needed large construciton experience to understand the issues of the road industry. So I joined Abigroup contractors. After a number of years on large projects, I had the opportunity to work in a design office for 6 months as part of an alliance, and really enjoyed the work. Soon after, I started working for SKM in infrastructure projects.
In 2010 I took my family to Nepal for 4 months to explore opportunities to work in the development sector.
Sustainable Livelihoods is an area of particular interest to me and I am in the process of directing my career development to provide me the experience I need to work in developing countries.
