Gerry was drawn to engineering as he saw it as an opportunity to solve problems using an analytical framework.

One of the highlights of his career was when he was asked to facilitate a workshop for CEOs and Mayors to develop a strategy to implement water management across 15 member Councils of the Central Local Government region.

“I was subsequently asked to prepare the proposal, which also had to go to some State and Federal MPs. Getting the agreement across the 15 Councils was a very satisfying moment,” said Gerry.

In the future, Gerry would like to make it so all people have access to safe fresh drinking water and sanitation.
