Greg started his working life as a tradesman, but soon switched to engineering because he wanted to be involved in designing and developing technical solutions, not just implementing them.
Since then, he’s never looked back. Greg’s proudest professional moment was the creation of an underslung water bucket methodology for the S-70B-2 Seahawk helicopter when he was in the Royal Australian Navy. He’d been working as part of a team fighting bushfires on the NSW mid-north coast, and they saw the potential in fitting a “bucket” to its underside, to scoop up water from dams to dump on the fire.
“Engineers are often in the front line, leading and developing so many great things for our future and our communities. I've worked in a range of engineering and management roles, and all through those experiences I've had a reason to call on my technical skills and knowledge. "
Greg is General Manager Risk & Asset Integrity at Jemena.
