Mark Patis was recently awarded the title of 'Engineering Officer of the Year' in the 2010 Australian Engineering Excellence Awards.

He is a principal civil designer with Parson Brinckerhoff (PB). With 29 years experience in road design and land development—4.5 of these with PB—Mark is a highly valued member of the company’s Roads and Highways engineering team.

His reputation for quality highway design means Mark is regularly invited to provide input during the start-up phase of major design and construction projects throughout Australia. Northern Link and Port Brisbane Motorway, for Thiess and Baulderstone respectively, are just two of the significant projects he has worked on.

For the past three years Mark has been directly involved in the design of Brisbane’s Airport Link. He led the team responsible for the highway design across the entire project.

Mark’s aptitude for quickly conceptualising and detailing highway design projects, and providing support and direction for engineers, designers and drafting staff under his supervision, means he is a sought-after mentor and a positive role model for junior staff within his team.
