Rebecca feels privileged to be a part of the engineering profession. She thrives on the collaborative process, in which teams of people combine skill sets and experiences to achieve something that can’t be achieved in isolation. This team approach is essential to good engineering.
Her proudest professional moment occurred when working on the Goro Nickel Project in New Caledonia. Her role was to commission the feed thickening area of a large-scale, hydrometallurgical processing plant. She spent months carrying out preparation work, and, after undergoing a long, arduous preparation period, she felt a great sense of pride in commissioning the feed thickening area, with the circuit operating precisely to design.
