Engineers Australia is proud to announce that 2011 is the Year of Humanitarian Engineering

In 2009 Tom Maher was awarded Engineering Technologist of the Year for his 20 years of experience in the construction, maintenance and management of civil assets area - as an engineering technical officer with the Northern Territory Government, Local Governments in Queensland and Christmas Island.
Tom has overseen major construction in these areas and of subdivisions and maintenance of airstrips in a number of Aboriginal Communities throughout the region.
He has provided technical support on an extensive list of civil projects and has worked on major civil contracts for Queensland’s Department of Main Roads.
Tom is known as a leading asset management practitioner within the Northern Territory local government and is a proactive team player who supports staff members and local governments Australia wide in improving asset management practises.
