Kurilpa Bridge A World First

Kurilpa Bridge is an exciting piece of infrastructure which stretches the boundaries of engineering to astonishing new levels. It’s the first major pedestrian bridge in the world to be based on tensegrity construction principles.

The bridge is a shining example of world class innovative design, the result of a creative partnership between Baulderstone, Arup, Cox Rayner and Department of Public Works and a new icon for Brisbane that provides a key connection from the CBD to Brisbane’s cultural precinct.

Kurilpa demonstrates that innovation of the highest order can be produced when skilled designers and constructors adopt a truly collaborative approach.
